Prestressed concrete slabs reduce on-site work and construction time compared with cast-in-place floors. We manufacture two core prestressed slab types — the flat-soffit slab and the F3T (triple-rib) slab — which, while serving the same structural role, differ in several important ways.

The flat-soffit slab is 5 cm thick and 35 cm wide, with length made to order to match each project's span. Its defining feature is a flat underside, which reduces the plastering work needed on the ceiling below compared with some other slab types. It is also lightweight, allowing fast installation, and suits floor slabs in residential and general buildings where spans are moderate and loads are within normal ranges.

The F3T precast slab is 7 cm thick and also 35 cm wide, but its triple-rib cross-section gives it a higher load capacity than the flat-soffit slab and reduces the amount of topping concrete required on top. For some spans, it can even be installed without temporary shoring during construction, further reducing on-site steps and time.

When choosing between the two, the first factors to weigh are the load requirement and the span involved. For floors carrying typical loads over moderate spans, the flat-soffit slab is usually the better fit — for both installation speed and lower plastering labour. For projects that need greater load capacity, or that want to minimize topping concrete and shoring work, the F3T is the more suitable choice.
